Vintage Friday: Chips Galore

FBR&Ashley1976CroppedFeeling nostalgic for the days of maxi dresses and long ironed hair? Potato chip cookies were also the rage in the mid 1970s. I, for one, love sweet and salty together. Please enjoy munching on these while you go through your old Polaroids.

CHIPS GALORE

Ingredients: 2 sticks butter, 3/4 cup light brown sugar, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 cups plain flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 cups crushed potato chips (preferably plain Lays), 1 cup chocolate chips.

Directions: Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and then beat in eggs. In a separate bowl whisk together flour with baking soda, and then gradually mix into the creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and potato chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet, about 2-3 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees in preheated oven about 10-12 minutes. Cool. Makes about four dozen.
