The following is from the unedited Guardian of the Deep – Wytchfae 2, scheduled for a June release from Secret Cravings Publishing. The Succubus Layla is concerned for Samael, whose mind has been demon zapped:
“You called me that name once before. Down by the river. It’s not my name, but it’s close.” Pulling away, he frowned down at her. “Maybe you’d better explain.”
Layla squeezed her eyes shut. If only she hadn’t slipped up with his name. How in the world would she explain calling him Samael? Relying on her gut feeling, she dropped her hands, inhaled deeply and then opened her eyes and deepened her dimples into a smile. “Some say I have strong intuition, that’s all, Sam, but half the time it’s wrong. I was close though, wasn’t I?”
He didn’t answer.
See the inspiration for Samael here,.
It sounds like she has some powers she doesn’t want him to know about? Anyway, I’m definitely intrigued.
Nicely done! Looking forward to more.
Very interesting!
Very interesting…I want to know more about these two, and why she’s calling him Samael. Great hook!
An intriguing snippet, Flossie. It always is a problem to use the name of another… and I’m curious how it happened to her.
intrigued! wondering what the deal is between the two of them. thanks for sharing. 🙂

Great catch. But he’s certainly thinking things though now.
Great hook, well done!
I hope he accepts her explanation. Great hook and intriguing.
Sounds like she’s got her hands full. I wonder if he’ll believe her. Nice hook. Can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Me thinks she may have a bit more explaining to do! Lol
Oooh intriguing hook! 🙂
Slip of the tongue…x
Love it, and the inspiration as well! Great hook. By the way, I’m up to Chapter 5 of Wytchfae Runes and enjoying it very much so far…it has a nice, easy reading style with plenty of passion.
Intriguing, I need to know more now
