Writer Wednesday: Jean Adams

????????????????????It is my privilege to welcome author Jean Adams, whose latest book is No Other Love. Jean is the founder of Romance Writers of New Zealand! I admire what she says about her heroine and hero: “They are soul mates, and their love for each other goes soul deep.”

1. What inspired you to write in your genre/s?

I’m a strong believer in happily-ever-after, whatever the genre. I write category and erotica, (just to see if I could). I’ve also written a time travel set in ancient Egypt, which I love, and which has inspired me to write an Egyptian trilogy.  I’m working on those in between the categories.

2. What is the hardest part about writing?

Having to close down the computer to go to the day job.

3. Tell us about your writing schedule and habits. (What drink do you always have by you?)

I start at 5am and write to 7am. Day job gets in the way. When I get home I write from 5.30pm to 7pm evenings. Mornings I drink water after my morning coffee, evenings I drink wine.

4. Tell us what you love most about your latest book.

I love that my latest book, No Other Love, is set on a Greek island (as well as in Los Angeles). The Greek part is taken from personal experience, especially the near-death experience on the water.

5. Who is your favorite secondary character in your latest book and why?

There isn’t a secondary character to speak of in my latest book because it’s a category.

6. If you could time travel, when and where would you go?

I’d go back to ancient Egypt during the golden age (18th/19th dynasties). I’d love to visit pharaoh’s court, go to a temple to see some of the rituals, or wander around the market stalls, etc.

7. If you could be a mythological or fantasy being, who or what would you be?

I think I like to be Arwen from The Lord of the Rings. She ended up with Aragorn.

8. Rose, sunflower, violet, or lily?

I’m a Rose, definitely.

9. If you knew the apocalypse was coming, what authors/books would you take with you to your bug out location?

Goodness, this is hard. I couldn’t possibly choose one author, there are several. Two at a pinch. Helen Kirkman and Laura Kinsale.

10.What stories do you have planned for the future?

I’m working on a category trilogy featuring three gorgeous Greek brothers.

BLURB: NO OTHER LOVE

Lucas Nelson, a man brought to his knees and humiliated by two women in his life, had given up on them. When he finds himself falling in love with Jenna, who he has problems avoiding, he knows he’s in trouble.

Jenna Blake is living the life of her dreams and has made it clear she’s not interested in a relationship with an ordinary man. She wants to marry an aristocrat, like the Earl of Kendal. Nothing must be allowed to get in the way of everything she’s worked for, not even true love.

But Jenna finds Lucas hard to resist. Will she follow her heart? Or will Roger and his aristocratic trappings win her over?
