Cozy mysteries are one of my favorite genres to read. Whether or not a series hooks a reader depends in large part on the family, friends, daily life, and surroundings of the amateur sleuth. The family and friends must weave a tapestry behind the sleuth that favorably appeals to the emotions of a reader. The daily life must be interesting enough for the reader to want to put herself in the sleuth’s shoes and see what it’s like. The surroundings must mesh with the tone of the characters and actions involved.
In addition, of course, the story must accurately depict the murders and investigation. The story must also camouflage the culprit within mysterious goings on and other possibilities so that a sense of surprise pervades. The Boneyard achieves all this, and more. Tullah and her family and friends are folks you’d love to know.
Favorite Supporting Character- The black Labrador Retriever, River.
Fun Tidbit- I enjoyed the times when Tullah received paranormal, psychic, or spirit inklings or assistance.
Memorable Line- Maybe my brain was having a fanciful moment.

Thank you for this wonderful review, Flossie.
Well deserved.
That’s a great review, Flossie. I don’t read a lot of cozies, but I always enjoy them when I do!
They are my “soothing” genre, but this one has a bit more “thrilling” in it than many. Keeps you turning the pages.
