Book Review: Into Summer

4 STARS FOR INTO SUMMER

Into Summer – Dawn of a New Age, Four Seasons Book 4

Author: Larry Landgraf

First Published: October 2018

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic, Survivalist, Dystopian

Setting:  Various Texas areas including The Farm, Peaceful Valley

Hero:  Robbie Lindgren

Heroine: Florence

Major Theme – In the human race hope lives on despite dire conditions and terrible loss; good ultimately defeats evil.

Descriptors: Enthralling read, detailed in the actions necessary to survive the end of life’s comforts as we know them, graphic in the depiction of negative human thought and deed, enthralling details of survival, great feelings of people working together.

Favorite Supporting Character:  Freya, for whom Robbie always kept a soft spot in his heart.

Fun Tidbit: This is the final book in the Four Seasons series, and everything gets wrapped up. I get the strong impression that, if ever needed, this set of Seasons books by Larry Landgraf could act as a roadmap for post-apocalyptic times. I’m certainly keeping them around. The details in the book are obviously based on the author’s extensive knowledge of and experience with living in or near the wild swamp, very admirable intelligence to possess.

Memorable Lines: “In most of the communities Robbie visited, he found good people who remembered what it was like before the grid shut down. When there are good people, there is always hope, but for twenty-five years, it had been lost. Thanks to a couple of brave young men, hope is now here to stay. Their dream has now ballooned into the New United States.”
