A cheating woman, heartbroken man, final love note, and raging river — the combination makes for a wonderfully mournful tune. I picked a river song to match yesterday’s feature of Guardian of the Deep on the Paranormal Romance Thursday Tour, since a river is a player in that book. This 1961 song is one of my favorites, and I listen to it almost nightly. I first remember it from the juke box at my mother’s restaurant when I was a little girl. Other versions are good too, including the one by John Fogerty. Take it away, Pat Boone.
I hope you enjoyed this vintage song from 1961.
Cheers & Happy Reading!

Beautiful! Thank you, Flossie, for giving us the opportunity to listen to it!
I don’t know, but all the music of those years, both around here and where you live was more melodious with deep feeling and expressing it in such a suggestive way. Nowadays except the exaggerated sensuous movements of the body and almost naked bodies. . .
You are so right, Carmen. I hate it nowadays when they stick out their tongue like demons – ugh.
A nice glimpse back at a simpler time. I wasn’t familiar with the song. I thought I’d at least know John Fogerty’s version, because I’m a fan. Vintage is always fun. Happy Friday, Flossie!
Another Fogerty fan yay!
