Welcome to Tuesday Tales, where authors write weekly excerpts based on word and picture prompts. The word prompt this week is crazy. The excerpt is from Silver’s Angel, a Paranormal Fantasy Romance in the Wytchfae Series. When you finish reading it, make sure to visit all the talented authors of Tuesday Tales.
A sharp rap on the door startled her out of her trance. She jumped up, skittish as always before a public appearance with Hugo. Wrapping her robe tighter and fastening the hook on the side, she cracked open the door and moved aside for Elise.
The woman removed the covering and draped a trendy cocktail dress and thin matching wrap over the back of a chair. “Monsieur Warring sent it for tonight.”
“I can select my own outfit.”
“He says you are to wear it.”
“It’s overdone for a rock concert, isn’t it?”
Elise shrugged. “Mr. Warring says there will be paparazzi.”
There was no use wrangling with the woman. Like a parrot she would repeat Hugo’s instructions until doomsday arrived.
“Oh, and these.” With a smirk Elise offered a small jewelry box. “To match your necklace.”
Angel’s fingers flew to the hated choker around her throat. Without comment, she opened the door for Elise to depart.
“Oh, he also said to tell you that a girl will be up to do your face and hair.”
Angel gripped the door and nodded.
Just before seven, dressed, made up, and hair in a stylish messy updo, she made her way to Hugo’s suite. He met her outside the door, barked a final order into his cell phone, and nodded approvingly at her appearance. He extended an arm, and they started down the hall.
“Lovely as usual,” he commented, eyeing her necklace. “You haven’t asked who’s on tonight.”
She quirked a brow. “I saw a hotel announcement. A band called Silver, isn’t it?”
“Down in the dregs. Looking to make a comeback. I’ve decided to bankroll a tour.”
She remained expressionless, something she was getting better at since her acquaintance with Hugo Warring.
He persisted. “You don’t know the band?”
“I remember them—vaguely.”
Actually, Silver was one of her favorite bands. All four members were extraordinarily talented, and the voice of the lead singer had always gotten right to her. She had read about him writing most of their original songs. She was sure they would perform their major hits tonight, including her favorite, Wild Love, and hoped they’d cover Crazy Train, as they did at a concert she had attended years ago. She had to be careful to keep her interest hidden. The band undoubtedly needed the funding. She wouldn’t do anything to make Hugo reconsider.
I hope you enjoyed the snippet based on the word crazy. Thanks for stopping by. Check out the other excerpts at Tuesday Tales.

What a control freak! Can I give him a slap? Great use of the word prompt. I hope he’s going to come around and really win her over.
Yes, he needs a slap. Thanks, Jean!
Excellent scene. Can’t say I like Hugo or the fact that she can’t be herself. Waiting to see where this goes.
Good– I’m glad Hugo came across unlikable, thanks, Susanne!
Love how she kept her secret about it being one of her fav bands. Not sure I am happy with him and his bossiness. LOL – love, love how you used the prompt. Are you by chance an Ozzy fan? LOL Jillian
Yes, I love some of his songs, especially Road to Nowhere and Crazy Train. Such a talent back then.
Great snippet!!
Thank you!
Jumping in line to have a chance to smack the infuriating Hugo! Curious about where this is going to go – you’ve got my attention!
Hahaha smack him for me.
Oh I so don’t like him and I feel bad for her. I want to break her out of there. Great job!
He’s being obnoxious for sure.
