Welcome to Tuesday Tales, where authors write weekly excerpts incorporating word and picture prompts. From a select group of pictures this week, I chose one depicting tea. The excerpt is from Silver’s Angel, a Paranormal Fantasy Romance in the Wytchfae Series. When you finish reading it, make sure to visit all the talented authors of Tuesday Tales.
Silver’s music thundered through the loudspeaker, creating anticipation in the crowd. The thump of the bass drum provided a deep anchor to the rising excitement.
Angel sipped the dirty martini Hugo had ordered for her and forced herself not to grimace at the salty bitterness. Loosened from the alcohol and music, she leaned forward. “I hear Silver has a new song ready for debut.”
His broad face appeared a chartreuse hue under the sweeping lights. “Where did you hear that? I told them to stick to their hits, not roll out virgin material.”
She jerked back in her chair, irritated with herself for the disclosure. “I forget. Saw it on IG I think.” She managed a bright smile. “Who’s the opening act?”
He frowned and angled away, eyeing her. “IG didn’t provide that info?” He waved a hand, not waiting for a response. “Accident Waiting, a band from Jacksonville.” He consulted his smart watch and then punched a few buttons, apparently in response to a vibratory alert. “Only one hit so far, but they may be going places, if they’re backed right.”
“Are you after them, too?”
He pinched his nose. “Nope. They’re still blank sheets as far as I’m concerned. Blank sheets with a dumb name.” Something at a table near the bar drew his attention. “A couple of togs are snapping. Forget the fangirl crap. Sip your drink and look mysterious.”
Angel tightened her lips and picked up the glass. Despite yearning to see and hear Silver, it wasn’t something she wanted to do with Hugo’s bulging eyes on her. His very presence made her skin crawl. She couldn’t wait for this night to be over. At the same moment her glass was empty, a waiter appeared at the table. Before Hugo could open his mouth, she found herself with words of her own. “I’d like iced tea and an order of fries.”
I hope you enjoyed the snippet incorporating the picture of tea. Thanks for stopping by. Check out the other excerpts at Tuesday Tales.

Good for her to speak up for herself. Well done.
Thanks, Susanne.
Love how she doesn’t want to drink with that guy she doesn’t like. Nice move!
Thank you!
Great excerpt!
Thank you.
I wasn’t ready for the scene to end yet. I’m very curious about what’s going to end up happening. Great snippet!
Thanks, Trisha. I’m glad you’re curious as to what will happen.
He bothers me. Way too controlling so I am proud of her for sticking up for herself. Great job!
