To me, divination is not so much to see what the future brings, but to get insight into the possibilities of the moment. Runes are one of my favorite methods. Runes constitute an ancient Germanic alphabet in use starting in the 1st century AD. They were valuable to the Scandinavians, Anglo-Saxons, and other Germanic peoples, for writing as well as for magical purposes.
Rune layouts range from simple to complex, with the simplest being a single rune drawn in reply to a question. The question should be in a generalized form such as the following: “What do I need to know about my love relationship at this moment?” Once the rune is selected, the reading works best if the recipient does the following: Sit quietly and still your mind. Open your heart. Consider the following descriptions in connection with love, lovers, significant others, and romantic relationships. In stillness and openness comes the true meaning of the runes.
Today we look at Fehu. It is one of the eight runes of Freyr and, of course, part of the traditional Germanic Futhark or runic alphabet. Fehu is symbolized by a corral of cattle. It stands for one’s possessions in life, rewards for hard work, and feelings of satisfaction and fulfillment. You have labored, and now it is time to enjoy but also to take stock. This rune advises you to sort out the things that really give you fulfillment. Is it physical gain or is it emotional connection? Is it tangible reward or is it the knowledge that you strive to do and be the best you can? Fehu urges you to enjoy the fruits of your labors but not extol them beyond their intrinsic meaning. It also says to be mindful of conservation and vigilance, and not to allow success to turn you into something you abhor. This is a time to enjoy life but not to be wayward and reckless. Most of all, share your good fortune with an open heart and extended hands. Keep the positive flow going.
I hope you enjoyed our Rune of the Day. What is your intuitive reaction to Fehu?
Cheers & Happy Reading!

I have no idea about any rune’s meaning, except this one. And this is due to the fact that, at first, I signed the contract for Shadows of the Past with Freya’s Bower, owned by the same publisher who owns Wild Child where the book was released. And I knew that the rune Fehu corresponds with Freya, and is the rune of Abundance & wealth. Anyway, on the whole, it sounds a good one to me. Thanks for the reading!
Isn’t that something, Carmen? Those are two different publishers but connected?
I don’t use runes but I do examine my life in other ways on occasion. Sometimes you just have to stop and take stock of your situation. For relaxation and clarity I love yoga. Overall, the message behind this rune seems like a good one!
I am enjoying learning from you, Flossie. This looks like a good rune to have in a reading or in answer to a question. I do think the tactile nature of runes is appealing. I might get some and see if I can get a feel for them. Thanks for sharing.
I have different varieties, Daisy, and would love some wooden ones.
