Blurb:
Forbidden love in the fae realm…
The Succubus Layla has one job: to pursue dreaming men. Although emotional attachments are strictly prohibited, Layla has powerful feelings for the Guardian of the Deep.
Samael is a dark lord charged with maintaining order in his submerged domain. The Guardian is enamored of Layla, and they fuel their passion in his undersea home.
With forces stirring against them, the fae world becomes dangerous. Samael suggests a hideaway in the human dimension – a 1950 Montana ranch. Layla is thrilled. They can escape the threat looming over them, and she can indulge her cowboy fantasies with Samael.
When Samael disappears before their rendezvous, Layla’s dream turns to a nightmare. Peril is closer than ever. She must call on her deepest reserves and risk everything for the truth to come out. Is her love strong enough to hold the bond with her Guardian of the Deep?

Excerpt 1:
The draperies swept open to reveal all the glory of the deep ocean. The phosphorescence of seafae lit the waters. And there Samael glided, every bit as splendorous as the home of his heart.
Layla moved to stand at the window and watch mesmerized as Samael cavorted among his denizens. As happened when sea water covered him, his skin from chest downward shimmered in vibrant jeweled tones—cerulean, purple, and green. The flecks in his eyes sparkled, and his long dark hair with its burnished streaks streamed out behind him. The lower half of his body had shifted to its undersea form, that of tail and fins, a brilliant-hued merman in all his glory.
The sight took her breath away.

Excerpt 2:
Her heart hammered at the thundering sound of hoof beats in the distance. Over the rise came a creature she knew was a horse, from pictures and her experiences in the dreams of men. She had never seen a real one.
She blinked her eyes in disbelief. Samael rode the horse. She whirled in excitement and smacked full into Bane, who had stopped stock still.
The horse and rider headed straight at them, a curl of rope and weapon hanging from the saddle, a rifle Layla thought. What was Samael doing with a gun?
Relief flooded her. The best part, other than seeing with her own eyes that he was not hurt, was her certainty he would proclaim her innocent of any part in this abduction.
Samael would know she was innocent, wouldn’t he?
“Keep your mouth shut,” Bane hissed.
She couldn’t stand mute and let Bane get in the first word against her. “Samael.” She rushed toward him, recoiling when she encountered the energy field and immense bulk of his mount.
The startled horse reared up, knocking Layla off balance. While Samael regained control of the beast, she tilted sideways and fell into the edge of the water.
She struggled to get up but only managed to plunk herself back down in the mud.
    “Samael.” Her voice shook.
He halted the stallion within a few feet of her as she lay sprawled in the shallow water. She flinched at the look he tossed her from beneath his wide brimmed hat. It wasn’t the heated gaze he usually gave her, the one that melted her insides and made it hard to breathe. No, this was the distant stare of a stranger. A cold stranger with her lover’s face.

Torchy Tuesday: Mind Your Goddess

MindYourGoddesspostercroppedWIN! Like my Facebook page and leave a comment OR follow my blog and leave a comment to be in the running for a free eBook from my backlist.

With book 4 in the Wytchfae series, Time Singer, coming out soon, I am doing a shout out for book 3, Mind Your Goddess. I had a lot of fun going back to the Roaring 20s with the goddess Epona and her dark guardian Eshigel. I also enjoyed creating Epona’s sunlit abode and Eshigel’s dim underground domain adjacent to that of the ghoulish Grims.

Readers of book 2, Guardian of the Deep, and book 1, Wytchfae Runes, will be pleased to see Bane and the irrepressible Kelly O’Day make brief appearances in Mind Your Goddess. To me, the best part is seeing Epona and Eshigel work hard to manage their differences and tumultuous past baggage. Mind Your Goddess is a dark fantasy paranormal, but the romance is paramount.

Having loved mythology and fairy tales all my life, I’m thrilled to be able to write stories that allow me to explore new mythological themes. In the Wytchfae world, faeries, witches, ghosts, goddesses, dark guardians and many other unusual beings live in dimensions parallel to ours. Wytchfae, or earth witches with a smattering of fae blood, form the link among the various worlds. It’s a reality dear to my heart, and I’m over the moon to be conjuring the magic with paranormal romance.

SCP Paranormal Blog Hop

BlogHopSCP3-2014Welcome to the Secret Cravings Publishing Paranormal Blog Hop! We’re hopping all weekend. To one lucky person who comments on this blog, I’m giving away an eBook from my Wytchfae series– you pick the title: Wytchfae Runes, Guardian of the Deep — Wytchfae 2, or Mind Your Goddess — Wytchfae 3.

The Wytchfae world is one of intersecting dimensions parallel to our own human earth realm. The inhabitants include witches, demons, angels, goddesses, dark guardians, ghosts, and other magical beings. If you like paranormal romance and urban fantasy, Wytchfae is for you!

MIND YOUR GODDESS

Cool jazz and hot kisses… The goddess Epona awakens in the Roaring 20’s. Can this flapper summon the razzle dazzle  to reclaim her powers and the heart of her dark guardian?

Teaser: He took her in his arms once more, his aura winding around her, cocooning the two of them in tendrils of delicious heat. His low voice drugged her senses. “You are my Goddess, and you always will be.”

GUARDIAN OF THE DEEP

Forbidden love in the fae realm… A Succubus in trouble. A powerful undersea lord. He wants to spirit her away for a cozy lovers’ retreat. Can the couple leave danger behind?

Teaser: The arresting sight of Samael in jeans and boots curved her lips into a smile. He looked rough and tough and out of place in this domestic space, a wild stallion in a barn. He took a step forward. She licked her bottom lip. His intense gaze told her she was dessert and dinner didn’t matter.

WYTCHFAE — RUNES

Combine one faery witch and one hot Viking ghost and what do you get? Supernova attraction. Can they evade their enemies long enough to fan the flame?

Teaser: Kelly had seen Ingvar transform from insubstantial apparition to hot red hot blooded male.

    Blushing Excerpt

SamaelheadfotorI’m a romance writer, and I reckon my own words shouldn’t make me blush. However, there is a certain scene in Guardian of the Deep that affects me that way. I shared it on the Time for Love site today, where the book is featured. A thousand thanks to all of you who voted for the story of Samael and Layla to win Christina Cole’s Time for Love contest. Stop by her site and leave me a comment for a chance to WIN your own copy. I wonder if you will blush too.

This snippet is from the unedited Guardian of the Deep (Wytchfae 2), scheduled to be published in June:

“Samael.” Damn it, her voice shook.

He halted the stallion within a few feet of her as she lay sprawled in the shallow water. She flinched at the look he tossed her from beneath his wide-brimmed Stetson. It wasn’t the heated gaze he usually gave her, the one that melted her insides and made it hard to breathe. No, this was the distant stare of a stranger. A cold stranger with her lover’s face.
